As a member of the WSU ICAA Diversity & Inclusion Council, one of my tasks was to create a monthly newsletter that would keep coaches, administration, staff, and student-athletes within the department educated on prevalent topics as well as the latest diversity and inclusion news in the NCAA, on our campus, and across college athletics. ​

I came up with the name 'The Inclusionst' as a way to tie the 'newsletter' theme and of course, encompassing the theme of the piece. I wanted it to be something that would be reader-friendly to the eye, a quick read, while also providing all the information to keep our community informed and educated.  The consistent layout offers the reader a front page of educational content and the second page of updates, events, and news.

Taking on this project has allowed me creative freedom and the unique opportunity for evolution that comes with publishing a monthly piece. In addition, it has allowed me to become more proficient in research. It was important for me to sort and identify research and resources to serve the higher education/athletics community of our targeted audience. The goal was to educate and provide resources to help our athletics community make steps towards becoming a more inclusive space for all.
